During Holidays at Filoli, visitors can stroll the illuminated grounds by night or see the decorated home by day. In a special way, these little tabletop trees have come to symbolize bridging the past and the present, a way to keep memories with my father alive, but also create new memories with my mother and sister today. Amid the holiday hubbub, one song – “Home for the Holidays” – forces me to stop what I am doing and reflect on just how beautiful and complicated the idea of home can be, especially this time of year. It was used in a television commercial for T-Mobile starting on December 12. In 1968, Robert Goulet covered the song for his holiday album, Robert Goulet's Wonderful World Of Christmas. The best-known recordings of "Home for the Holidays" were made by Perry Como, who recorded the song twice, both times accompanied by Mitchell Ayres' Orchestra and the Ray Charles Singers.
